The Renshaw Dog Park
This weekend we had the privilege of getting to watch Bristol, who besides Copper has to be the most adorable dog out there. Thankfully the more they are around each other the more they become better companions. It usually takes awhile for Copper to get used to having another dog around his hood, especially one with the puppy energy. After two days of Bristol being around you can tell how tired Copper is by the end of the day. He seems to be about to pass out, but is always waiting at the gate when we walk downstairs looking to see if we brought Bristol. Watching them play has been rather enjoyable since neither of them seem to share very well. Every time I turn around it seems like they are trying to play with the same toy. Friday I looked over to both dogs holding an end to a toy and Copper dragging Bristol across the ground.Whenever I throw the ball Copper quickly chases after it, while Bristol runs halfway waiting to knock it out of his mouth. It is like watching a dog version of American Gladiator since Britol’s goal seems to be preventing Copper from returning with the ball.
Not even a year old and he is already starting to grow facial hair.
Bristol stalking Copper waiting for him to drop his ball.
I think at this point Copper was becoming a tad jealous of Bristol getting all the camera time. I was sitting on the ground trying to take a picture of Bristol but Copper kept stepping in front of me blocking the way.
My Weekend With Bristol
Over the weekend, well Saturday, I had the privilege of getting to spend some time with Bristol. Since Rocky was out of town on a snowboarding trip, Rachel came over Saturday to spend the night and brought Bristol with her. It was very interesting getting to see how Copper reacted around him. I think it took awhile for him to realize what he was. The first few hours were spent with Bristol ignoring him, and Copper always on edge whenever he would come near him. Copper has never really been around many other dogs, so he is unsure as to how he should act around them. It was funny seeing the 15 poundish Bristol bark and jump towards Copper, who weighs around 85 pounds. Copper would jump back and then bark at him also. Thankfully after a few hours they started to act normal around each other. I think Copper was just jealous Bristol was getting all the attention, so after playing fetch with him maybe he realized he was still top dog at our house.
Bristol slowly becoming a big boy.
Say Hello To Bristol
I would like to officially introduce Bristol to everyone. Yesterday our doorbell rang, so mom went downstairs and saw him staring at her in the window. Bristol is Rocky’s new sidekick. He is a Golden Doodle. I have not been able to take many pictures, but here are two from the weekend. More to come, along with a video of him outside. It is kinda crazy how similar Copper looked when he was a puppy.
Bristol Barnes.
Columbus Zoo is kinda a big deal
Yeah these pictures are pretty old, but I still wanted to show everyone some of the animals from the Columbus Zoo. About a month or so into my internship I was able to set aside a day to go to the zoo. I saw billboards around town claiming it was the #1 Zoo in the United States. But I just assumed that these billboards were doing what Columbus does best, and that is thinking highly of itself. Therefore, I did not go to the zoo expecting much, except that I HAD to see the polar bears, and wolves. After seeing those, I think I can confirm that their zoo is amazing. But since I have not been to every zoo in the U.S. I can not confirm that it is #1. If it had less buckeye fans I am sure it would bump it up to a higher place though. I almost had more fun watching the people at the zoo than the sleepy animals that seemed to never get within 100 yards of the fences.
I have tried to sleep like this, and I do not see how this would be comfortable.
All I can think about when I see these pictures is how stupid the new Plane of the Apes movie looks.
Contemplating something deep…or not..I don’t know
Getting nowhere fast
Proof that Columbus does have a Spring….
I want nothing to do with this….Creepy
Mufasa!!!!
I just want to pet it!!! But I probably should stay away from the wolves….
AMERICA!!!
I would like one Artic Fox also!!
Then the zoo’s new exhibit. Polar Bears! They were pretty fun to watch, and definitely big.
Stable Boy
Well I have some time before I go to Chicago, so I thought I would post a few more pictures. I do not really have the desire to move anyways. I had a very difficult bike ride today, since it was my last in Columbus. Then went for a short stroll to the grocery store to get snacks for my bus ride to Chicago tom. The goal was to loosen up the muscles from the long ride today, not really sure it helped.
But below are a few more pictures from the stable. Enjoy
I thought that was a cool name
Sooooo yeah this horse is over 40 years old…..kinda insane
That is all for now. I am off to finish packing, but spend more time watching a movie.
Everything must come to an end…
Well I have mixed feelings right now. But my internship with A&F has officially come to an end. It obviously had some pros and cons, the weather being the con. But overall I really enjoyed being here, especially because of the great opportunity I had with Abercrombie. I was able to learn more in the 3 months I spent there, than the 4 years of college.
My last week there was spent in practice interviews, resume building, and then my final presentation. I remember having a 6 person group presentation in college that was 45 minutes and thought that was ridiculous. Well I now can say that was nothing compared to this. My final presentation was 45 minutes with around 15 minutes of questions afterwards. Not just to anyone either. It was to 12 people which consisted of the Senior VP of Supply Chain, and then a few more VPs, and Managers…soooo I definitely could not present wrong facts to them. But overall it went great, and I did not have to look at my notes once.
The plans are now to visit some of my cousins in Chicago this week(turn in some resumes), then return to Nashville and the job market..UGH The job search is just as stressful as when I left college, except now I am prepared.
But enough of my life, onto some pictures. Friday after my presentation I went to a equestrian barn to take some pictures. I will explain it more later on since the reason behind it is a whole story. (Probably when I return to Nashville in over a week) Here are some teasers though.
Is that the Sun?
Ok it finally has decided to get warm and sunny in Columbus. YAY!!! So in order to take advantage of it, I decided to make a trip out to the zoo. These are the only pictures I have uploaded so far(I am in Florida), so I do not have much to show yet.
Columbus probably has one of the greatest zoos I have been to. But I think I only say that because they had some wolves!! Anyways, I do not feel like typing much since I am at the beach. But I wanted to get something posted while I was inside waiting to eat lunch. Things are going great with A&F, but are quickly coming to an end. I am excited to be moving back south, but I have really enjoyed my time with the company. I honestly think I have learned more there, than the 4 years at college.
But here are some pics from the zoo.
Since When Did the 80′s Feel So Cold (Part 2)
Below are the rest of the edits as I had mentioned in my post Friday. Copper seems to always be a good subject to photograph since he tests my patience so much. It is almost impossible to get him to sit still when he doesn’t want to.
The dreaded fence Copper loves to get out of.
I usually hate photos that are overexposed but I really enjoyed the outcome of this photo.
So as you can see. Copper is doing good, and always happy to attack someone coming to our house with his excitement. Thanks for looking!
Since When Did the 80′s Feel So Cold
I still can not believe this amazing weather we are having right now. Going from 10+ days in the 90s to the low 80s seems like such a big gap. The weather was almost perfect tonight as I was at Rita’s Italian Ice with my family. I have not had a huge issue with the high heat and bike riding, but I did enjoy the temperature today for my bike ride. I would of stayed out longer if my bike playlist on my iPod was longer. (Yeah I have a bike riding playlist and yes I prefer to only ride with music as with most things in life)
After riding, showering, and running some errands I realized that I still had plenty of daylight to enjoy outside. So after seeing Copper look at me with his puppy eyes I had to go outside and play with him….aka watch him play and take pictures. The only thing that keeps me from staying outside longer are the horrible mosquitoes that seem to swarm around me at all times. If I wasn’t being attacked my mosquitoes I was being swarmed by ants downtown at Riverfront Park.
Anyways without rambling on about how great my day was…here are some pictures of Copper the Insane.
Copper asking to be played with. Mom is going to kill me for posting this picture of how dirty the door is.
That is all for now. I have a few more pictures to edit, but my bed is calling me.
Meet Dakota
I think we all have a weakness for puppies. So when I first saw this husky puppy I melted inside. Dakota is my older sister’s roommate’s dog. She is 6 weeks old. I have always been a husky fan (I actually want a wolf hybrid). Even with my love for huskies, this was my first husky I have seen, minus a few husky mixes. So without rambling anymore about my love for these dogs, I present to you Dakota.
How could you not fall in love with those eyes and that precious face.
Trying to figure out whether she wants to go down the stairs or not. But after a few tries she has mastered the art of walking up and down stairs.
Dog Photos
Over the weekend I was house sitting for my cousins. So as usual, I decided to get the camera out and take pictures of their dog Barkley. He is a mix between a German Shepherd and a Husky. These pictures were taken Monday, President’s Day. First few pictures are just of him, and then a few pictures of some icicles in their backyard.
Dogs and their sticks..Copper loves them, and so does Barkley
Icicle pics
I will also have quite a few pictures up of Copper next week. Today I went to the Bark Park with him. It is located in Mt. Juliet, and evidently has been there quite awhile, but I knew nothing of it. For anybody in the area, here is a link to their website.
Just a few to hold ya over…This is a pan shot of what the park looks like.Click to make larger
Copper saying hello
One year with Copper…Picture Timeline
So it has been a year since we got my dog Copper. To be honest he is such a hell raiser it feels a tad longer haha. But the big thing is how much he has grown in a year. We knew he would be big because of his paws. But we had no clue he would be 70+ pounds in a year. He is still really really wild, and loves to bite shoes and clothes.
One year has brought our family a happy dog to greet us each day, but has also destroyed chairs, couches, clothes, drywall, etc haha. He has been a great companion for walks in the neighborhood, and just sitting in our backyard. Copper has caused us to become frustrated, tired, and even worried for when he was really sick. It has been a stressful, yet fulfilling year with Copper.

Copper says hello
Well today was another chilly day. But nothing a jacket will not fix. So while I was sitting around I decided to go out and take some photos of Copper playing again.
The first picture was taken with the filter I have causing the weird effect. Except this time I turned it around which caused for it to look even weirder.
Here he is with his favorite toy. He is great about destroying things, especially his toys. But somehow this one has held up for probably 2 or 3 months. Most toys last maybe 3 days or so.
His “you didn’t just catch me digging face.” If only he was smart enough to clean the mud off his nose.
There is one thing that he is great about doing. Sitting down and looking majestic. So after taunting him with his toy, he finally sat still. He is kinda leaning back in the photo because he is waiting for me to throw it.
Then for old time sake I decided to put on his UT vol bandanna. That took quite awhile to get on him since he was in a playful mood.
Today was a very uneventul day I must say. I however did get out to take some pics of my car with their Christmas decorations. But i will have to go out again because they turned out poorly. Eventually I will have lots of photos of the different stages of the renovations of my parent’s bathroom. I have tried to take one each day. Anyways, thanks again for checking out my photos. I hope everyone is enjoying them.
